In the UK alone, there are already 850,000 people living with dementia, and this number is set to rise to more than one million within the next ten years. Alzheimer’s Society is committed to improving quality of life for people living with the symptoms of dementia.

Alzheimer’s Society is there to ensure that no one faces dementia alone. The charity provides support and information to individuals and their families, and provides services which are tailored to the needs of people affected by dementia.

Funding from players of People's Postcode Lottery will support a new Side by Side service which supports people with dementia to continue treasured pastimes and try out new experiences, as well as helping people to feel part of their community. Side by Side will help people to maintain a better quality of life and enjoy different leisure activities. By encouraging people with dementia to get out and about in their local communities and supporting them to become involved in local groups, this service will also help people to feel less isolated.
